A place to discuss rochester ny

An early proponent of the abolishment of slavery, the city's own Frederick Douglass is one of its most notable historical personalities. It was Douglass who was instrumental in the publication of the then revolutionary newspaper, the North Star. Another notable resident of Rochester NY was Susan B. Anthony, and the historic women's rights activist contributed largely to University of Rochester's admission of women beginning in the year 1900. Anthony is still of course one of the most well regarded historical figures in the city, and Rochester ny pays homage to her significant contributions by way of her original home which is now a world famous tourist destination.
