Many odd thoughts on moving
If you use a traditional moving company, the movers will have to haul your belongings off the truck and put them into storage (with all the battering that involves), then they will need to reload them onto the truck to deliver them to your new address. In essence, you move twice and pay twice. If you use storage pods, your belongings are never removed from the pod, so they are safe from damage, and the cost of storage and reloading onto a new truck are included in the fee. You move only once, and you pay for the move only once. In addition, it is normal to store pods for a long time, so you do not have to deal with bewildered calls from the moving company asking you when you want your things.
