The first step in using your desktop scanner will be to install the scanner software. Without the scanner software, you would not have the programs needed for your scanner to transfer and store digital images. The scanning process begins once the scanner software is installed. Before you scan your document, you will lift the lid of the scanner, placing your document on the glass surface of the scanner. Once your document is placed on the glass window, shut the lid and click the scan button.
